Qbert: Hop, Skip & Don’t Get Squashed

Rating: 5 out of 10

Qbert is one of those arcade games that looks simple until you actually play it. Your mission is straightforward: hop across a pyramid of cubes and change their colors. Easy enough—until Coily the snake, bouncing balls, and other troublemakers decide to ruin your day.

The controls are part of the fun and part of the frustration. One wrong jump can send Qbert flying off the pyramid, and learning to hop in the right direction takes some concentration. It’s challenging, but in that wonderfully addictive arcade-game way that makes you want to try again immediately.

With its colorful graphics, quirky character, and frantic gameplay, Qbert is a classic that is still a blast to play. Just remember: when you’re hopping around on a pyramid, there’s nowhere to hide!
